UB faculty and staff are invited to join thousands of other volunteers from Western New York taking part in the 24th annual United Way Day of Caring on Aug. 17.

Organized by the United Way of Buffalo and Erie County, Day of Caring is Western New York’s largest community service event and serves as the launch for UB’s annual Campaign for the Community.

This year, UB volunteers this year will be working on projects such as painting and landscaping. Light-duty assignments are also available by request.

The event starts at 8 a.m. at First Niagara Center, with volunteers leaving by bus for their work sites at 8:45 a.m. Participants will return to First Niagara Center by noon, where they can enjoy a free lunch and entertainment.

Those interested in participating are asked to register by Aug. 15.
