UB faculty, staff and students interested in applying for a Fulbright grant to study abroad in the 2017-18 academic year can attend the fall conference of the Western New York and Northwestern Pennsylvania (WNY/NWPA) Chapter of the Fulbright Association, being held at UB Nov. 6.

The conference, which is free and open to the public, will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. in 113 O’Brian Hall, North Campus. Lunch will be served.

It will feature a keynote address by Reha Mallory, coordinator of short-term and long-term Fulbright-Hays group programs for the national Fulbright office. Her address, which will begin at 1 p.m., will highlight innovations and recent changes that have taken place in the Fulbright group program, as well as the impact that it has on public education.

Those attending the conference also will hear presentations on the various Fulbright awards from chapter board members and local Fulbright Award recipients. Following the presentations, participants may attend breakout sessions to learn more about each of the Fulbright Award opportunities.

Those interested in attending are asked to register online. For more information, contact Walter Hakala, UB assistant professor of English, at walterha@buffalo.edu.
