The officers of the Professional Staff Senate (PSS) and the Faculty Senate — the Office of University Governance — have teamed up to participate in the 23rd annual United Way Day of Caring on Aug. 19.

Faculty and staff at UB are invited to join thousands of other volunteers from Western New York to take part in this community-building event. To be a part of the PSS team, and assigned with other PSS members to a project, register here. In the “Department” field, list “Professional Staff Senate."

Organized by the United Way of Buffalo and Erie County, Day of Caring is Western New York’s largest community service event, and serves as the launch for UB’s annual Campaign for the Community.

This year, UB volunteers this year will be working on projects such as painting and landscaping. Light-duty assignments are also available by request.

The event starts at 8 a.m. at First Niagara Center, with volunteers leaving by bus for their work sites at 8:45 a.m. Participants will return to First Niagara Center by noon, where they can enjoy a free lunch and entertainment.
