The Dependent Care Advantage Account, a New York State Flex Spending Account that allows workers to set aside up to $5,000 in pre-tax salary for eligible child care, elder care or disabled dependent care expenses that are necessary for the employee and his or her spouse to work, also is available to help employees pay for summer day camp expenses for children under the age of 13.

Employees who currently are not enrolled in a DCAAcount may do so mid-year for these summer camp expenses by claiming a change in status.
