A free screening of “The Age of Love,” a documentary chronicling the world of speed-dating for the 70-and-older set, will take place on Valentine’s Day at UB.

The screening, presented by Center for the Arts and Beechwood Continuing Care, will begin at 1 p.m. Feb. 14 in the Center for the Arts Screening Room. While admission is free, seating is limited.

“The Age of Love” follows the humorous and poignant adventures of 30 seniors in Rochester, N.Y., who sign up for a first-of-its-kind speed-dating event exclusively for 70- to 90-year-olds.

From anxious anticipation through the dates that follow, it’s an unexpected tale of intrepid seniors who lay their hearts on the line and discover how dreams and desires change — or don’t change — from first love to the far reaches of life.

The Valentine’s Day screening at the Center for the Arts is part of a national initiative to launch senior speed-dating events. An event is being planned for March 12 at Beechwood’s Asbury Pointe Retirement Community in Getzville.
