A candlelight vigil to raise awareness of sexual violence will be held from 7-9 p.m. April 18 on the North Campus. Attendees will gather in the Flag Room, second floor of the Student Union, and then walk to Baird Point for the vigil.

The vigil is being organized by Project Candlelight, an effort organized by a group of professional MBA students working with the Indian Student Association to raise awareness of such topics as rape, attempted rape, sexual assault, and group and human trafficking. Project Candlelight was inspired by the recent incident in India in which a young woman was gang raped on a bus.

The vigil is co-sponsored by the Gender Institute, Wellness Education Services, Student Survivor Advocacy Alliance and the UB Men’s Group.
