Her presentation, entitled “Specialty Pharmacy – Past, Present and Future,” was part of the specialty pharmacy elective course offered to second- and third-year pharmacy students and second-year MBA students at UB.

Since the University at Buffalo successfully implemented the first Student Association of Specialty Pharmacy (SASP) chapter in the United States last year, Arquette has been instrumental in ensuring the success of the student initiative.

"Sheila and her team have provided an excellent foundation for student education in the dynamic field of specialty pharmacy,” says Nicholas Cashman (PharmD/MBA '22), SASP president. “The students here are extremely motivated to use the framework she has laid out to advance the norms of specialty pharmacy education and invest in the future of specialty pharmacy practice. Her visit today generated a lot of excitement amongst us."

The Student Association of Specialty Pharmacy was created to invest in the future of specialty pharmacy practice by promoting student engagement through education, professional development, and networking with members and affiliated partners of NASP.

For over 130 years, the University at Buffalo School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences has continually been a leader in the education of pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists, renowned for innovation in clinical practice and research.
