NCPA hosts student-led immunization clinic

The University at Buffalo student chapter of the National Community Pharmacist Association partnered with Middleport Family Health Center to implement the first pharmacy student-led influenza immunization clinic in Western New York.
Under the supervision of Ryan Lindenau, community pharmacist at Middleport, and Amanda Foster, PGY1 community pharmacy resident at Middleport, certified pharmacy interns administered more than 30 flu shots to their fellow students in the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences.
"Our next goal is to take this project to at risk populations to increase vaccination rates, and to advocate how a pharmacist can be an integral member of your community and health care," says Henry Wilson, BS/PharmD '20.
The National Community Pharmacists Association represents the interests of pharmacists who practice in independently owned pharmacies. The student chapter promotes the educational and practice interests of students interested in community pharmacy practice in the independent pharmacy setting.
