Quicker than you can imagine, it's going to be time to lace up your sneakers, stretch those muscles, and unleash your inner speed demon because the 2nd annual "Beat the Stampede" 1-mile race is coming your way this fall! Get ready to become a part of something extraordinary, something that will leave you breathless, exhilarated, and with memories to cherish for a lifetime.

Mark your calendars! The race will take place:

  • Walter Kunz Field, UB North Campus
  • Saturday, September 23rd, 2023
  • 8:30 AM to 12 PM

This scenic location will provide the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable running experience.

Who can participate, you ask?

Anyone and everyone! The "Beat the Stampede" race is open to all, whether you're a student, faculty, staff member, or a member of the Buffalo community. Lace up those running shoes and bring your enthusiasm, as we're all in for an exhilarating adventure!

To make the event accessible and inclusive, we have kept the race fees student-friendly. For UB students with a valid UB ID card, the fee is just $15, and for community members, it's only $20. Your race fee not only secures your spot in the race but also guarantees you a race medal at the conclusion of your heat. Wear it proudly as a symbol of your triumph!

But wait, there's more!

We're excited to introduce a brand-new addition to the festivities: the Kid's Mini-Mile, a thrilling 100-yard dash for our youngest runners. And guess who will be joining them? It's none other than our beloved mascot, Victor E. Bull!

  • The registration for the Kid's Mini-Mile is free.
  • Every little participant will receive a race medal!

...making it a delightful experience for the whole family.

The excitement doesn't end with the race itself. Post-race activities will be in full swing, promising a day of endless fun and entertainment. Bounce houses, giant games, music and more await you, providing the perfect opportunity to unwind, connect with fellow participants, and celebrate your accomplishments together.

Can't make it to the event in person? No worries! We understand that life can be hectic, so we've got you covered with our virtual race option. Participate from anywhere in the world, track your time, and receive your race medal by mail. It's a fantastic way to be part of the "Beat the Stampede" experience, no matter where you are.

Remember, registration closes on Thursday, September 21st, 2023, at 11:59 PM. Spots are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. So, don't wait!
