Green your commute and bike to work on May 18

Green Your Commute Day on May 18 promotes and celebrates sustainable modes of transportation.

Faculty and staff are encouraged to use a more sustainable mode of transportation to get to work that day, such as walking, biking, taking public transit, carpooling, driving an electric vehicle or anything else that doesn’t involve driving alone in a gas-powered vehicle.

In support of Green Your Commute Day, Parking and Transportation Services and the Office of Sustainability are hosting UB Bike to Work Day.

Those who bike to work on May 18 can refresh at energizer stations at Main Circle on the South Campus and Founders Plaza on the North Campus. Cyclists who check in between 7:30-10 a.m. that day will find free refreshments, including juice, granola bars, fruit and water. They also will be eligible for raffle prizes, among them UB Bikeshare memberships and UB merchandise.

While on your green commute, take a selfie and post it to social media using #GYCD18.

Participants are asked to register in advance.
