Educational Affairs has launched the Office of Educational Effectiveness to ensure that UB is achieving its goal of providing all students with a high-quality education.

The Office of Educational Effectiveness, to be headed by Carol Van Zile-Tamsen, is charged with supporting the campus in the systematic, continuous and rigorous assessment of student learning and success, as well as instructional and program effectiveness. To achieve this end, this office will:

  • Maintain a campus repository of department and program-level assessment efforts.
  • Assist in training faculty and staff in core areas of assessment planning, methodologies and reporting.
  • House scoring services.
