CEI Faculty Collaboration Studio.

In collaboration with the University Libraries and the Center for Educational Innovation, The Office of the Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs designed a focused, two-track curriculum for a select cohort of 20-30 recently-hired faculty to enter into a New Faculty Academy for Teaching and Scholarly Writing. Each track for a group of 10-15 is offered over four months in the fall semester, and is repeated in the spring semester, so that all participants can attend both over the course of one academic year. MAC Logo.

In 2017, The University at Buffalo joined with other colleges and universities in the Mid- American Conference (MAC) to participate in the Academic Leadership Program (ALDP). The mission of the MAC ALDP is to identify, develop, prepare and advance faculty as academic leaders in the Mid-American Conference universities.  The program provides an opportunity for University at Buffalo faculty to gain valuable knowledge and experience in academic leadership by working closely with select administrators from other colleges and universities in the MAC.

The Office of the Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs continues its workshop series to help department chairs more effectively lead and respond to challenges they confront in their departments and/or units.   We look forward to another year of robust and engaging conversations about departmental life at UB.

Brown Bag.

In an effort to assist new faculty members in the development of a successful career at UB, the Office of the Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs is instituting a series of Brown Bag luncheons. These luncheons are designed to help newly appointed faculty navigate the many challenges of academic life.
