Unapologetic Coffee expands wholesale business as it plans second site

As reported by Buffalo Business First, Unapologetic Coffee—a wholesale coffee startup supported by Cultivator—has plans to purchase more roasting and packaging machinery with funds from a General Motors WNY Scale Up Small Business grant. The machinery will support contracts under development with Tops and other retailers, online sales, and the opening of a second cafe in the next nine months. The team also looks to hire additional staff members.

According to Business First, Unapologetic picked up speed after participating in UB's Cultivator program. “The main goal was always to sell coffee online, but when we started with [Cultivator] we did start to pivot and ask what’s the biggest reach. We started entertaining the idea of customers who were wholesale businesses, not just grocery stores,” says Alisa Officer, COO of Unapologetic. “We are going to be producing way more coffee than we have in the past, so they can be in retail locations but also we can provide commercial coffee service to businesses as well.”
