About Us

UB South Campus.

Within UB’s health professions programs, interprofessional education provides every student the opportunity to become an effective collaborative healthcare practitioner by learning teamwork and communication skills with students from the professions of dental medicine, dietetics, law, management, medicine, nursing, occupational therapy, pharmacy, physical therapy, public health, and social work.

Interprofessional education (IPE) "occurs when when two or more professions (students, residents and health workers) learn with, about, and from each other to enable effective collaboration and improve health outcomes”.
UB is recognized as a national leader in the development of caring healthcare professionals who transform healthcare delivery through high quality interprofessional collaborative practice.
The Interprofessional Education and Collaborative Practice initiatives at UB are developed and implemented by a committee of faculty representatives from each of the participating programs.
The Interprofessional Education and Collaborative Practice program at UB is enthusiastically endorsed and supported by the Deans of the participating schools.
