About the Award

The Council on International Studies and Programs offers this university-wide award to honor faculty and staff who have made exceptional and longstanding contributions to international education at UB in one or more of the following areas:

  • Promoting international education, research or service
  • Creating novel models/opportunities for study abroad
  • Directing study abroad programs
  • Attracting and/or mentoring international students
  • Securing grants in support of international education
  • Developing sustainable international research collaborations
  • Developing and organizing international events/activities on campus
  • Creating international curricula
  • Developing and teaching new courses with an international focus
  • Service/achievement with international focus in the broader community

Eligible Nominees

Nominees must be full-time faculty or professional staff members at the University at Buffalo. Nominations may be submitted by any member of the University community—faculty, staff, student, alumnus(a), or volunteer.

Nomination Submissions

Nominations consist of the following:

  1. Completed nomination form
  2. Nominating letter describing the nominee’s contributions to international education at UB
  3. The nominee’s current resume or CV
  4. Two supporting letters from members of the UB community who are familiar with the nominee’s contributions in the international area
  5. A letter of endorsement from the dean or senior administrator to whom the nominee reports

Deadline

Completed nominations must be submitted for the current cycle by April 1.

Presentation

Awardees will be selected by the Council, and awards will be presented at a special awards luncheon later in the fall semester, hosted by the President or Provost.
