Educational Opportunity Program Fund
The Educational Opportunity Program at UB supports motivated and talented students who—because of inadequate financial resources and academic preparation—have not had the same opportunities as other students.
Nearly 1,000 students would not be enrolled at UB this year without this program which provides college preparation workshops, advising, tutoring and mentoring, and textbook loan program. Students must be from low-income backgrounds and residents of New York State to qualify for the program.
As a result of this personal attention, many Educational Opportunity Program alumni have gone on to successful careers in law, medicine, business, teaching, engineering, architecture, information technology, and other fields.
UB strives to continue to offer access to higher education to all students, but declining support from New York State makes this more challenging every year. That’s where you can make a difference.
