This project is not being offered for the current term. Please check back next semester for updates.

Project description

Students will learn in the lab by assisting with data collection for an ongoing funded study that aligns with their career goals. For example, if a student has aspirations to work in Emergency Medicine, they can assist with a study involving heat-related injuries. If they are interested in cardiovascular physiology, they can assist with a study involving blood pressure regulation. With my guidance, students will take ownership over a research question from their study to analyze the results, with a culminating project of an abstract submitted for presentation at a local, regional, and/or national conference. If the student chooses, they will be afforded the opportunity to assist with manuscript writing to be submitted for publication in a peer-reviewed journal. Finally, students will create content (e.g., infographic, video, FAQ) to share their findings with the general public, translating their findings to the communities who could benefit the most from the results.

Project outcome

Students will summarize and translate research findings to the scientific and local communities.
