Beck Hall


Edgar C. Beck Hall, used variously for the campus bookstore and faculty club, is one of the many architectural jewels of UB's South Campus. Modeled after the Holland Land Company (early Buffalo developers) building in nearby Batavia, Beck Hall presently houses The Regional Institute. (Read more at the UB Archives.)

Namesake


George A. Beck George A. Beck (1895-1975) graduated from the University of Buffalo Medical School (Class of 1919). He joined our faculty in 1921 where he served for nearly fifty years. Dr. Beck was one of the first physicians in the United States to treat diabetic comas. A lifelong advocate for our university, he was awarded the Capen Award in 1957.
