Before ever hearing the term “the Great Resignation,” Jen Bement, JD '13, MBA '13, made the decision to leave her leadership role at a regional bank to take a mid-career pause. Like many others during the pandemic, she felt a strong pull to recharge, reflect, and re-examine her intentions for leading a happy and successful life.
Over the past year, Jen explored new paths and discovered many personal insights – some good, some bad, some ugly. Join Jen as she shares learnings from her mid-career pause, as well as advice for anyone experiencing a similar pull to reset their career clock.
About Jen Bement
Jen Bement is a self-proclaimed “Great Resigner,” although she much prefers the term “Re-Designer.” She is a Buffalo native with extensive experience in Corporate Procurement, Learning & Development, business strategy, and doing what feels right for her and her family. Currently, she is a Digital Strategy Consultant for Excellus BlueCross BlueShield where she helps set strategy for their many digital constituents.
Jen holds a JD/MBA from the University at Buffalo and is licensed to practice in New York state. She teaches Communication Skills to Professional MBA students at UB and lives in East Aurora, NY with her husband and two children.
