On May 3-4, UB alumni who graduated in 1969 or earlier met on campus for a university-wide celebration of alumni who graduated 50 or more years ago.

2019 schedule

Friday, May 3

11:30–1 p.m. - Luncheon and Student Panel Discussion
Crossroads Culinary Center, Ellicott Complex, North Campus
Lunch and a panel discussion about what UB is like today with current students at this award-winning, innovative campus dining facility.

1:30–3:30 p.m. - Campus Tours by Bus
Tours include North and South Campuses with highlighted stops along the way.

4–5:30 p.m. - Welcome Wine and Cheese Reception
Gicewicz Club, UB Stadium, North Campus

Reception at the exclusive Gicewicz Club suite inside UB Stadium. Hosted by UB Alumni Association Board of Directors.

Saturday, May 4

9 a.m.–Noon - Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences Spring Clinical Day
Jacobs School Building, Downtown Campus
Open to all alumni

  • 9 a.m. Beakers and Breakfast with Medical School Tours
  • 10 a.m. Keynote Address: “A Grassroots Physician Changing the World,” 2018 CNN Hero Robert J. Gore, MD ’02

Noon–1:30 p.m. - Golden Reunion Luncheon
Hayes Hall, South Campus
Celebrate your 50-plus years with a formal luncheon inside the iconic and recently renovated Hayes Hall. Arrive early to hear the 12 chimes of the clocktower again!

1:45–3:30 p.m. - Lifelong Learning Sessions 
Three classes to choose from over two sessions. The first session will be from 1:45-2:30 p.m. and second session will be from 2:45-3 p.m.

  • Weave Your Life Story
    Learn how to share your life experiences and achievements with those you love most.

  • Protecting Your Legacy
    How to secure your assets while advancing your wishes during life and beyond.

  • Thriving in Your Golden Years
    Let your golden years shine! How to do more of what makes you happy.
    Presenters: Bruce Troen, MD; professor of medicine and chief, Division of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine, Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences; and Laura Wray, clinical associate professor of medicine, Jacobs School, and co-director, Department of Veteran Affairs Center for Integrated Healthcare

Shuttle service

On-campus shuttle service will be provided. Friday morning pick-up and afternoon drop-off will take place on North Campus near the UB Football Stadium. Saturday morning pick-up and afternoon drop-off will take place on South Campus.  Additional details to follow as we get closer to the event.
