Explore this country between Spain and the sea

Known for its traditional agriculture, fishing communities, cosmopolitan, bustling cities, and jet-setting coastal resorts, join UB as we explore this tiny country between Spain and the sea that offers a variety of experiences of the senses.

We will spend an evening listening to the beautiful husky music of “fado” while sipping port; a day exploring Portugal’s most spectacular religious sanctuary, “Bom Jesus do Monte” with its 18th-century giant baroque stairway; and a night at Pousada Serra da Estrela where a log fire and stunning views over the snow-capped mountains greet us. From Lisbon to Oporto, Oliveira, and Evora, architectural, historical, and cultural treasures await us on this unforgettable sojourn into the very heart and soul of ancient Portugal.

Highlights:
• Introductory panoramic sightseeing tour of Lisbon with a local guide, introduces this fascinating city; from the grand neo-classical buildings of the Baixa district to the narrow-cobbled alleys of the Moorish Alfama quarter and a visit to Castelo de São Jorge, a hilltop fortification with magnificent views over the city
• In Porto, visit the Convent of Christ, founded in 1162 by the Grand Master of the Templar’s
