Services for Wayne A. Robinson, assistant director of public safety at UB for 24 years, were held on Friday in Urban Brothers Funeral Home in East Amherst. Burial was in Clarence Fillmore Cemetery.
Robinson, 51, died Nov. 19 in Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital after a short illness.
A native of Ogdensburg, Robinson earned forestry degrees from Paul Smith College and the University of Massachusetts.
He retired from UB in 1994 and was serving as New York State representative for Cairn Studios, a decorative art company in North Carolina, at the time of his death.
Robinson at one time had been a patrolman for the Amherst Police Department, and also had taken classes at the Amherst Police and FBI academies.
He had been an Eagle Scout with three palms and a Vigil member of the Order of Arrows.
He enjoyed hunting and bowling, and was a fan of NASCAR racing.
