Learning from lived experiences

In late May, the second-year Doctor of Physical Therapy students in PT 612 Prosthetics, Orthotics and Rehabilitation welcomed Keith Burhans and Mark Landers to their class to learn from their lived experiences following amputation. Burhans shared his powerful experience following a life-altering boating accident on Lake Ontario that resulted in bilateral transtibial amputations. Landers survived one of the largest aortic dissections in U.S. history and lives with a very rare amputation (hip disarticulaton).
