Flamenco artist Marisol Encinias taught junior and senior dance majors.

Encinias (front of class) is an assistant professor at the University of New Mexico, where there is a concentration in flamenco within the Theatre & Dance Department.

Last week, UB dance majors enjoyed a visit from flamenco artist Marisol Encinias. Her residency ended with an informal performance of this dance, inspired by the Andalusian gypsy culture. Flamenco is focused on evoking and communicating passion, love, sadness, despair, joy and more. Photos: Douglas Levere
