The event also celebrated the completion of the Silo City trellis, designed and built by students in Nicholas Rajkovich's studio last year.

The 60-foot diameter trellis, composed of stainless steel viper tubing manufactured by Rigidized Metals, will train the branches of willow trees planted beneath to form a canopied natural gathering space.

Ryan Ludwig also discussed his new book, “Beyond Sustainable.”

Over time, the willows within the trellis will intertwine and graft together to become a single structure.
