As the sun began to set, the Special Events field — that's the Center for the Arts to the right and Lake LaSalle in the background — started to fill up.

The rooftop lighting at the Center for the Arts took on a patriotic red, white and blue hue.

The band 23 Skidoo and the Erie County Wind Ensemble performed before the fireworks.

UB has been collaborating with the Town of Amherst since 1991 to put on the show.
