Ikenna Smart collected used sneakers for the past year in hopes of bringing them back to his village in Nigeria. He was able to ship four bags of shoes to the village.

UB basketball player Ikenna Smart returned to his home village in Nigeria in late May to visit his parents, who he hadn’t seen in six years. Smart moved to the U.S. when he was 16 to play high school basketball. This was his first visit home.
