Champagne definitely was in order as members and friends of the Department of Philosophy gathered on June 5 to honor SUNY Distinguished Professor Barry Smith on his 65th birthday.
Gloria Zúñiga y Postigo and Gerald J. Erion, former students of Barry Smith, organized the celebration for Smith's 65th birthday. Zúñiga y Postigo holds "Barry Smith: an sich" (Barry Smith, in himself), a Festschrift volume that she says "celebrates the man behind the successes that he has enjoyed in philosophy."
