Wirth, commander of Submarine Group 10 at Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay in St. Marys, Georgia, received a briefing on UB's cutting-edge research during a visit to the North Campus on Sept. 9. A Grand Island native, Wirth met with UB leadership and faculty members who are conducting research projects in AI, autonomous systems and other advanced technologies.
