As part of UB’s commitment to achieving climate neutrality by 2030, most items available at One World Café will be in either compostable or recyclable packaging, bringing the facility as close to zero-waste as possible. Bins labeled “Recycle,” “Organics” and “Trash” (also referred to as R.O.T.) are placed throughout the facility. Items placed in “organics” bins will be processed at a commercial compost facility into a renewable resource. This is the first R.O.T. system on campus, and plans to expand are in the works.
