“Charade,” ca. 1973, from the Discontinuous Sequence Series, is one of the works in “The Contradictions of Being: Composite Works by Harvey Breverman,” an exhibition of more than 50 paintings and drawings by the UB emeritus faculty member that opens on Friday at the Burchfield Penney Art Center. The exhibition features many Breverman works that have never been shown before publicly in Western New York.
