UB celebrated the strong connections, history and contributions of indigenous people at the university as part of the Native American Welcome to UB, held Aug. 31 outside the Student Union. The event, organized by the Office of Inclusive Excellence, featured Native American food, music and a smudging ceremony, a Native American custom used to dispel negative energy.
