Homecoming and Family Weekend set for Sept. 22-27

UB will welcome alumni, families, students, faculty, staff and friends back to campus Sept. 22-27 for Homecoming and Family Weekend 2026.

The six-day celebration will feature events and activities across campus, including alumni programs, special-interest gatherings, tailgating, a Homecoming football game and opportunities to reconnect with the UB community.

Among the highlights:

The 2026 UB Alumni Achievement Awards will take place Thursday, Sept. 24, at 6 p.m. in the UB Center for the Arts. The annual awards recognize 20 outstanding individuals for their accomplishments and contributions to their fields and the university. The formal presentation will be followed by a celebratory reception. Tickets are $75 per person and include both the awards presentation and reception. Guests also can sponsor a current UB student to attend for an additional $75.

On Saturday, Sept. 26, Broadview Village will be open to all from noon-3 p.m. in the Arena Lot on North Campus.

The celebration will feature school and alumni tent parties (registration required), a beer garden, seating areas, student demonstrations, a game zone, a DJ, giveaways and a performance by the UB Marching Band.

New this year, guests can pick up a Broadview Village passport and explore participating stops throughout the event. Those who visit five stops can receive a UB alumni reusable cup.

The weekend culminates Saturday afternoon when the UB Bulls take on Robert Morris at 3:30 p.m. in Broadview Stadium. Fans are encouraged to grab their UB gear and bring their #UBTrueBlue spirit for the Homecoming matchup.

UB SOUL (Shades of Unity & Love), an alumni community that creates opportunities for connection, mentorship and engagement among Black and multicultural UB alumni, will celebrate its 10-year anniversary with brunch on Sunday, Sept. 27.

Homecoming and Family Weekend programming also will include opportunities for the broader UB community to participate from wherever they are.

UB alumni who graduated 50 or more years ago are invited to get a preview of what’s happening in UB Athletics during a special Golden Connections virtual event. On Tuesday, Sept. 22, Mark Alnutt, vice president and director of athletics, will share updates virtually on UB’s athletics programs, preview some of the upcoming sports seasons and discuss what’s ahead.

The online webinar “Bring It to Buffalo” with Visit Buffalo, on Wednesday, Sept. 23, will explore the impact of tourism, meetings, conventions, tournaments and other events on the Buffalo region. Leah Mueller, vice president of sales and services at Visit Buffalo and the Buffalo Sports Commission, will discuss how the organization promotes Buffalo, Erie County and Western New York and how members of the UB community can help showcase the region.

With activities ranging from athletics and tailgating to alumni celebrations and online programs, Homecoming and Family Weekend offers something for Bulls of all generations, whether they’re returning to campus, bringing their families or celebrating from afar.
