Kudos roll in for the Bulls

UB’s women’s basketball team won a lot of games this season during their historic run to the Sweet 16 round of the NCAA Tournament. In the process, they also won over the hearts and minds of fans and followers across Western New York and around the country.

“What an historic and record breaking season for our UB women’s basketball team! It has been exciting to watch this team all season long and we are proud of their amazing achievements,” said UB President Satish K. Tripathi, who attended Saturday’s game against defending national champion South Carolina in Albany.

“Congratulations to the players, Coach Jack and her staff for reaching the Sweet 16, and thank you for giving UB and our community such a memorable season,” Tripathi added.

Also in attendance was Mark Alnutt, UB’s new director of athletics, who flew to Albany from Memphis, where he’s finishing out his tenure at deputy AD at the University of Memphis before officially joining Buffalo in a few weeks.

The Bulls also won praise from a number of national media outlets, as well as UB men’s hoops coach Nate Oats (also in attendance Saturday), for their season, and the way they carried themselves all year.
