Some of the year’s biggest movies, including Academy Award-winner “The Revenant,” are in the lineup for this year’s free outdoor Summer Film Series presented by the undergraduate Student Association.
The series opens June 20 and runs through Aug. 26. Screenings will take place on Monday, Wednesday and Friday nights during June and August, and on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays during July. The screening on Monday, July 4, will be moved to Tuesday, July 5, due to the annual Town of Amherst fireworks display on the North Campus. Screening locations are the Special Events Field adjacent to the Student Union and Greiner Hall on the North Campus, and the Hayes Hall lawn on the South Campus. Specific locations are listed below.
All screenings will begin at 9 p.m. through July 28; screenings after that will begin at 8:45 p.m.
In the event of rain, screenings will move to the Student Union Theater on the North Campus and Allen Hall on the South Campus.
The screenings, which are co-sponsored by Late Night UB - Student Life, are open to members of the general public, as well as the UB community.
SA will screen two additional films at 8:30 p.m. on Aug. 28 as part of Welcome Back Weekend. “Captain America Civil War” will be shown at the Special Events Field; “Central Intelligence” will be screened in the Student Union Theater.
