“Three years ago, I found my home with ACCP and the Endocrine and Metabolism PRN. I’m still learning a lot about the organization and how the PRNs operate, and I believe there is no better way to learn than to do. Which is why I'm so excited to embark on this new leadership journey. ”

ACCP PRNs were established to connect focused groups of clinical pharmacists to enhance professional support and collaboration. They provide a means for clinical pharmacists with common practice and research interests to gather for professional interaction, networking, and continuing education.

Albanese has been elected Secretary/Treasurer of the Endocrine and Metabolism PRN, which is comprised of pharmacists and student pharmacists dedicated to endocrine and metabolism disorders. Its goals include promoting practice, research and education in endocrine and metabolism disorders and providing opportunities for PRN members to network and problem solve. Albanese’s appointment is a one-year term that began at the ACCP Annual Meeting on October 16.

As Secretary/Treasurer, Albanese’s responsibilities include managing and monitoring the PRN funds and payment for activities and supporting the Chair and Chair-Elect in multiple capacities. She is also serving as the Chair of the Communications Committee and will oversee the development of the PRN Newsletter and web page development.

“I’ve been in academia for 20 years and never really found my ‘home’ organization,” Albanese says. “Three years ago, I found my home with ACCP and the Endocrine and Metabolism PRN. I’m still learning a lot about the organization and how the PRNs operate, and I believe there is no better way to learn than to do. Which is why I'm so excited to embark on this new leadership journey.”

Albanese has been a member of ACCP since 2002. Her curricular responsibilities include endocrinology, pharmaceutical care and self-care. She is an active member of the profession and an accomplished lecturer speaking on topics including diabetes, obesity, and immunizations among others.

Clark has been elected Secretary/Treasurer of the Geriatrics PRN, which is comprised of clinical pharmacists dedicated to the care of older persons and issues related to aging. Its goals include providing geriatrics and aging programing to its members and providing opportunities for PRN members to network to share information and develop collaborative research. Clark’s appointment is a one-year term that began at the ACCP Annual Meeting on October 16.

As Secretary/Treasurer, Clark’s responsibilities include managing and monitoring the PRN funds and payment for activities and supporting the Chair and Chair-Elect in various capacities.

Clark has been a member of ACCP since 2014. His research focuses on the implementation and assessment of pharmacist provided clinical services. He has a particular interest in studying the pharmacist’s role in transitional care management across the continuum of care and medication optimization strategies for older adults with complex medical conditions. Clark is also a member of Team Alice, an interprofessional initiative to protect older adults from medication related harm.

ACCP's mission is to improve human health by extending the frontiers of clinical pharmacy through strategic initiatives, partnerships, collaborations and alliances.
