Her book, "Beyond February: Teaching Black History Any Day, Every Day, and All Year Long," emerged from this realization, focusing on racial justice education. As a fellow at UB's Center for K-12 Black History and Racial Literacy Education, James explores how elementary teachers use picture books to teach Black history, aiming to contribute to inclusive education practices.

Led by a team of UB faculty, including experts in computer science, industrial and systems engineering, and inclusive design, the project is part of the "Buffalo All Access: In and Around BNMC" initiative, aiming to solve mobility challenges for all travelers with a specific focus on underserved communities.

    A coalition comprised of members from the Buffalo Center for Health Equity, the UB Community Health Equity Research Institute, the School of Architecture and Planning, and the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at UB is looking to measure and understand the social determinants of health so as to improve health outcomes for residents of Buffalo's East Side neighborhoods.
