Porosity Analyzer: Micromeritics TriStar II Plus 3030 with Micrometrics VacPrep 061 (Sample Degas System)

The Micromeritics® TriStar II Plus 3030 is a fully automated surface area and porosity analyzer that enables highly accurate analysis of surface area and porosity of powders or other nano-structures, including uses such as new chemical synthesis or battery chemistries.

The three-station unit promises a high rate of accuracy, resolution, and data reduction capability allowing analyses that are customized to application needs.

The Micrometrics VacPrep 061 Sample Degas System prepares samples for surface area and pore structure analysis. It offers two methods for removing contaminants such as water vapor and adsorbed gases from samples to avoid interference with surface area measurements: flowing gas method, and a vacuum mode which prepares samples by heating and evacuation.

Features

Micromeritics Tri-Star II Plus 3030 Surface Area and Porosity Nalyzer (BET)

  • Three independent analysis ports operate simultaneously
  • Minimum surface area to measure: 0.01 m2/g (w/N2), 0.001 m2/g (w/Kr)
  • Adsorbate gas for specific surface area test: N2 (available) or Kr (upon request)
  • Free space can be measured, calculated, or manually entered as per need
  • MicroActive control software enables interactively calculating surface area and porosity
  • User-selectable data ranges through GUI allow direct modeling for BET, BJH, t-Plot, Langmuir, and DFT interpretation
  • Comprehensive pore size distribution data by gas adsorption & mercury intrusion overlay and advanced NLDFT
  • LN2 test temperature
  • Data points: 5-1000
  • A dedicated Po port allows for measurement of saturation pressure on a continuous basis
  • Saturation pressure can be entered manually, measured continuously, or collected over the sample

Micromeritics VacPrep 061 Sample Degas System

  • Six sets of sample kits: sample tubes (1/2” O. D.), filler rods, seal frits, tube holders, isothermal jackets
  • Heating block temperature: up to 400 ºC, with accuracy ±5 ºC
