Building the next generation of biopharmaceutical talent

The University at Buffalo (UB), through the Center of Excellence in Bioinformatics and Life Sciences (CBLS) and the Office of Business & Entrepreneur Partnerships (BEP), is proud to serve as the WNY/Great Lakes regional lead for a one-week NIIMBL eXperience program serving up to 15 first- and second-year college students and trainees in Summer 2027.

The program is designed as an immersive introduction to biopharmaceutical manufacturing careers, combining hands-on bioproduction training, direct exposure to manufacturing facilities, mentorship by industry professionals, and career-development activities. Students from STEM and non-STEM majors will experience the breadth of the sector - laboratory science, process development, manufacturing operations, quality, regulatory, supply chain, engineering, equipment, and business functions - and leave with a clearer understanding of pathways into the domestic biopharmaceutical manufacturing workforce.

Thank you to NIIMBL, with logo.

This project was developed with an award from the National Institute for Innovation in Manufacturing Biopharmaceuticals (NIIMBL) and financial assistance from the U.S. Department of Commerce, National Institute of Standards and Technology (70NANB21H086).
