Does alkaline water actually hydrate you better? Here’s what science says

Food & Wine magazine sought the expertise of Derek Daniels evidence that alkaline water hydrates better than regular tap water for most healthy people. The “alkaline” in alkaline water refers to where it falls on the pH scale. The pH scale determines how acidic or basic a liquid is. “Alkaline simply means that the solution is basic, as opposed to being acidic,” said Daniels. “It’s more like baking soda than vinegar.”
