Yahoo Life interviewed Charles Lindsey for a story about how fashion retailer Everlane is facing backlash after being acquired by Shein. According to Lindsey, one reason brands like Everlane struggle to scale is the concept known as the “say-do gap”: the difference between what consumers claim to value and how they actually shop. “Consumers may genuinely prefer sustainable products,” Lindsey said. “But when they’re standing in a store or shopping online, price and convenience loom large.”
