Numerous news outlets — including The Buffalo News, Spectrum News1, BTPM, WIVB, WGRZ, and Buffalo Business First — report on the 15-year, $31 million multi-tiered partnership announced today between UB and Broadview Federal Credit Union. The agreement includes naming rights for Alumni Arena and UB stadium, which will now be called Broadview Arena and Broadview Stadium, respectively, and an “athletics village,” as well as funding for student scholarships and the university’s student emergency fund. It is the largest naming rights deals in the Mid-American Conference and one of the largest of its kind in the country. Several stories quoted UB President Satish K. Tripathi, who said: “We are grateful to Broadview for their partnership and shared commitment to expanding opportunity. This collaboration strengthens our ability to support our student-athletes as they pursue excellence in competition, academics and personal development. Just as importantly, the scholarships and emergency funding made possible through this partnership will help students across our university overcome challenges, pursue their ambitions and reach their full potential.” Mark Alnutt, vice president and director of athletics, said, “This transformative campuswide partnership allows us to successfully compete at the highest level through a sustained investment in our Athletics program... It’s a great day to be a Bull and I can’t wait to welcome our fans to both Broadview Arena and Broadview Stadium.”
