The Buffalo News and several regional media outlets reported on President Satish K. Tripathi’s 14th and final State of the University address on Friday morning. Tripathi, who announced earlier this month his intention to step down and return to his faculty role, said “What a privilege it has been to be UB’s president,” adding that the “statistician in me still asks the question … what are the odds?” The story noted the many achievements UB has made during Tripathi’s tenure and how co-workers and colleagues are celebrating him for his kindness and humility, and putting the university’s interests before his own. “UB is a community in the best sense of the word: a dynamic environment where we exchange ideas, debate respectfully, and come together in service of our mission of excellence,” Tripathi said.
