Al Jazeera posted a video interview with Conor Dowling in which he provides insight into how Zohran Mamdani won the New York City mayoral race with an “affordability” pledge and the help of young voters. “Mamdani was able to win over voters in New York City largely based on a message related to affordability and wanting to work to make the city a better place. In other words, a really locally-based message to start off a campaign and one he stuck with throughout the campaign that created a lot of enthusiasm especially, it seems to be the case, among younger voters,” Dowling said.
