Satish K. Tripathi on two decades of leadership at the University at Buffalo

Inside Higher Education features  Satish Tripathi in a Weekly Wisdom podcast episode about his 20-plus years of leadership at UB, other career highlights and how the higher education landscape is evolving. He noted UB’s decision to move its medical school to downtown Buffalo. “This has changed the economic aspects of the whole area,” he said. Tripathi also spotlighted gains UB has made during his tenure, including improved graduation rates, and having more students receive national and international awards. On the research side, Tripathi highlighted advancements in biotech, health care, artificial intelligence and other fields. “It’s not that I have done this. It’s really the team here – the faculty, the students, my leadership team – working together with local and elected officials to make sure we accomplished what we accomplished. It has been really a team effort.”
