Inc. quotes Joshua Khavis in an article about how women have improved results in particular businesses. “We find female auditors — namely audit seniors — are associated with higher audit quality,” he says. “This effect is magnified (reduced) when female staff are more (less) likely to experience supportive communities and workplaces.” The story also quotes study co-author Brandon Szerwo, assistant professor of accounting and law in the School of Management. “Evidence from psychology, economics and organizational behavior shows that many traits, behaviors and characteristics commonly associated with women, such as being more risk averse, cooperative and detailed in processing information, often lead to better results,” Szerwo added. “We find consistent results in the audit industry.”
