Housing agency to offer material only in English, official says

The New York Times quotes Robert Silverman in a story reporting that the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development will no longer provide any material in languages other than English. Silverman said these changes could run afoul of the Fair Housing Act, which states the government is not allowed to discriminate based on national origin. But with the proliferation of free language translation technology, there may not be much impact, he said.
