A story in The Wall Street Journal featured Ken Regan in an article about the explosive growth of cheating since the chess world moved online as a result of the pandemic. Regan is an expert at spotting chess cheaters. The articles states that, before the pandemic, Regan would personally investigate a handful of tournaments a year. In 2020, Regan alone has processed more than 80,000 performances. “I’m not a vigilante by any means. I don’t go out looking for trouble,” said Regan.
