An article in the Associated Press on college coaches accused of accepting bribes to accept wealthy students featured Helen “Nellie” Drew, professor of practice in the School of Law and director of the Center for the Advancement of Sport. Drew said the fact the coaches accused of taking bribes were coaches of lower-tier sports could have made them more likely to take a payoff. “If you think your job is on the line and someone offers you more money than you are going to make in three years, sure, you are going to look at that,” Drew said.
