An opinion piece on CNN by Arun Vishwanath, associate professor of communication, about the threats to the Internet posed by the various email breaches during the election campaign looks at the role spear-phishing played in the hacks and steps that can be taken to limit the threat, such as two-factor authentication, or 2FA. “Rather than building real walls to protect against imaginary threats, President Trump should work to build a virtual wall to protect our Internet. The article appeared CNN-affiliated news outlets around the country, including KCTV-TV in Kansas City, KTVK-TV in Phoenix, WSMV-TV in Nashville and WFSB-TV in Hartford.
